The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) is already helping to make Scotland’s communities safer but we will also have a critical role in dealing with new risks including terrorism, severe weather and emergency medical response.
Also, we simply cannot ignore the financial realities - we cannot sustain our current delivery model beyond this financial year.
A planned and safe transformation will ensure the SFRS is prepared and equipped for the risk the country faces now and in the future.
We can deliver so much more for our communities and ensure we remain relevant to the needs of the people of Scotland.
|By transforming, we can:
Create a fire and rescue service designed to meet today’s risks
Deliver our current role more efficiently and effectively
Protect and enhance frontline delivery
Improve safety in rural communities by strengthening our Retained Duty System
Undertake a broader role in vital preventative work
