Firefighters extinguished early morning fire in Aberdeen

Operations Control staff provided fire survival guidance to several occupants
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service was alerted at 1.40am on Saturday, February 24 to reports of a dwelling fire.
A number of fire engines were mobilised to the multi-storey building at Brierfield Terrace, Aberdeen, where firefighters extinguished the fire.
Several occupants were given fire survival guidance by our experienced Operations Control staff before being led to safety by crews.
One person was transferred into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service and taken to hospital for a precautionary check. Crews remain on scene ensuring the area is made safe. SFRS Station Manager Hilary Sangster was the Incident Commander. She said: "Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews responded quickly and effectively to this incident. “On arrival the fire was already well developed - but quick and decisive action ensured that the fire was contained to one area and extinguished. "I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the firefighters and control staff involved for bringing this incident to a safe and swift conclusion, and also our partners for their assistance."
