Dr Kirsty Darwent, Chair of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Board, said: “Following a robust recruitment process, we have appointed Ross Haggart as our new Chief Officer of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

“Ross is an exceptional leader and respected fire officer who will bring more than 28 years of knowledge and experience to the role. He has held the position of Interim Chief Officer since July 2022 and takes up his new post immediately.”
