We will be working with a range of groups, including the Retired Employees’ Association which keeps retired firefighters in touch with each other, through events and volunteering.
Part of our role will be to promote and support Volunteering– the aim is for all volunteers, wherever based in Scotland, to be properly valued, supported, trained, and matched to a role that makes best use of their skills. A Volunteering Strategy is being developed to help all groups get the best out of their volunteers, and all volunteers to get the best out of what they do.
Call for volunteers: North East Scotland Fire Heritage Trust
Do you have a passion for vintage fire vehicles, some spare time, and would like to become part of the North East Scotland Fire Heritage Trust team, based in the Aberdeen area?
Volunteers are currently being sought to help maintain the North East’s collection of heritage fire engines, keeping them in first class condition to take them out to Fire Station Open Days, Galas and occasional one-off special events. You don’t have to have been a fire fighter, and whilst some mechanical or craft skills would be useful, training is available.
If you are interested in becoming part of the NESFHT team, please contact us on -SFRS.ECCTinfo@firescotland.gov.uk
