Lucia Bobkova from Callander in Stirlingshire is three years qualified in her profession and impressed the judges with her knowledge of very technical and specialist legislation connected to the fire service, plus the fact that she's taken responsibility for bringing a number of key areas of legal work in-house for the first time.
Lucia is delighted to be recognised for her hard work.
She said: “I have found working for the SFRS thoroughly rewarding and look forward to continuing to support the organisation in the incredible work it carries out across Scotland.”
Lucia was one of five newly qualified in-house solicitors shortlisted for the award ceremony which was held virtually earlier this month.
A total of 14 nominations were put forward for consideration, the highest number since the award was introduced in 2013 to celebrate emerging talent in the in-house legal community.
Law Society president Amanda Millar said: “Congratulations to our runner up Lucia Bobkova, who demonstrated commitment and passion for the legal profession and her in-house role. She will certainly be one to watch as she progresses in her career."
SFRS Legal Services Manager Vlad Valiente added: "Lucia worked incredibly hard to understand the organisation and relevant legislation to drive change and improve processes, especially for our Fire Safety Enforcement (FSE) client department.
"Her commitment and dedication has helped our fire safety enforcement colleagues improve effective legal reporting processes and enhance guidance for the enforcement function as a whole.”
