SFRS charity partnership records its 120th donor
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) charity partnership with blood cancer charity Anthony Nolan has recorded its 120th donor.

Guy Hunter, 21 from Elgin, was a pupil at Gordonstoun High School when he watched a presentation from the SFRS about our charity partnership.
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the sign-up process to join Anthony Nolan’s stem cell register was delayed.
The presentation however left an impact on Guy, as it inspired him to investigate further and then follow up by joining the register.
He was then discovered to be a match for someone in need and he has donated his stem cells.
A presentation was held at Gordonstoun to celebrate the charity partnership and Guy’s donation.
Guy said: "It was such a worthwhile cause and a simple way to give back. Helping someone is such an important part of life, and this felt like the perfect opportunity to do that.
“When I got the call to say I was a match, I was excited, it was a wonderful email to receive."
The chance to help someone is an incredible feeling!
“The donation process itself was surprisingly easy. The donation day was actually quite relaxing, just lying in bed and catching up on TV shows!
“To anyone thinking about joining the register, my advice is simple—DO IT. It’s the easiest way to change someone’s life."
Anthony Nolan recruits people aged 16-30 to the stem cell register as research has shown younger people are more likely to be chosen to donate.
